Dental Implants

 "The ideal natural-looking option"

Implants are the modern way to replace missing teeth. The implant is simply a titanium screw which is implanted into the jawbone to act as a stable base for an artificial tooth, or to provide support for bridges, crowns or loose dentures.

The teeth attached to implants are very natural looking and often enhance or restore a patient's smile. No one need ever suffer the indignity of either having to wear a denture or put up with a gappy smile.

Dental implants have many advantages over the traditional solutions for replacing missing teeth, including:

* Replaces one or more missing teeth without affecting the adjacent teeth.

* Dental implants maintain bone tissue and gums, ensuring an attractive, aesthetic result, whilst helping to maintain facial structures.

* Restore chewing and speech.

* Resolves joint pain or bite problems caused by teeth shifting into missing space.

* The result looks great, is 100% comfortable and is as strong as your natural teeth.

The Procedure:

* First of all the implant specialist carries out a thorough pre-treatment assessment of the problem. Having decided on a treatment plan the specialist dentist numbs up the areas where he has decided to place the implants and prepares and places the titanium coated screws into the jaw bone. Although this is a surgical procedure it is not particularly complicated or uncomfortable afterwards.

* After allowing the implant to become fully integrated the head of the implant is uncovered and a special attachment (healing abutment) is fitted.  This second stage procedure is followed by a final stage where the artificial teeth are permanently fixed to the implant, providing excellent stability and comfort to the patient.

Implants are a sophisticated solution for anyone who is missing teeth, and under proper conditions and with diligent maintenance, they can last a lifetime.
